The Baltimore Ravens are bringing back quarterback Tyler Huntley to serve as the backup to Lamar Jackson, according to Jamison Hensley of ESPN.
The move reunites Huntley with the franchise where he has spent the entirety of his NFL career since joining as an undrafted free agent in 2020. Known for his mobility and familiarity with the Ravens' offensive scheme, Huntley has proven to be a reliable replacement during Jackson's previous injury absences.
Over the course of four seasons in Baltimore, Huntley has appeared in 20 games, including nine starts. He has recorded 1,957 passing yards and eight touchdowns, while adding 509 rushing yards and three scores on the ground. His performance during the 2022 season notably earned him a Pro Bowl selection as an alternate.
The signing solidifies the Ravens quarterback room, placing a veteran presence behind Jackson who shares a close personal bond with the reigning MVP. Huntley will look to compete for the primary backup role as the team prepares for the upcoming campaign.
