The Jacksonville Jaguars have reached an agreement with Pro Bowl long snapper Ross Matiscik on a record-breaking two-year contract extension, according to Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.
The extension is worth $3.8 million in new money, officially making Matiscik the highest-paid long snapper in NFL history. The deal, which includes an average annual value of $1.9 million, was reportedly finalized by Jonathan Perzley of Sportstars as the team prepares for the 2026 season.
Matiscik, 29, has become a cornerstone of the Jaguars special teams unit since joining the team as an undrafted free agent out of Baylor in 2020. He is currently riding a streak of three consecutive Pro Bowl selections and was named a first-team All-Pro in 2025. Notably, the veteran has never missed a game in his professional career, appearing in 101 straight contests for Jacksonville.
The move ensures that the Jaguars keep their elite specialist battery intact, as Matiscik remains paired with punter Logan Cooke and kicker Cam Little. The organization has prioritized stability in the third phase of the game, having previously made Cooke one of the league's highest-paid punters.
