The New Orleans Saints are bolstering their offensive line depth by signing veteran guard David Edwards, according to a report from Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Edwards joins the Saints after spending the 2023 season with the Buffalo Bills. Before his stint in Buffalo, the 27-year-old offensive lineman was a key fixture for the Los Angeles Rams, where he started 45 games over four seasons and helped the franchise secure a victory in Super Bowl LVI.
The move provides New Orleans with a proven veteran presence on the interior of the offensive line. Throughout his professional career, Edwards has demonstrated significant reliability, appearing in 64 total NFL games since being drafted in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL Draft out of Wisconsin. While he served primarily in a reserve role with the Bills last year, his starting experience with the Rams makes him a valuable asset for the Saints rotation.
Specific financial terms and the length of the contract have not yet been officially disclosed by the team. Edwards is expected to compete for a position on a Saints front five that is looking to improve its consistency for the upcoming campaign.
