The NFL has officially announced that the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots will be the featured franchises for the next two seasons of HBO’s “Hard Knocks,” according to @RapSheet.
The defending Super Bowl champion Seahawks are slated to headline the 2026 training camp edition of the docuseries. The Patriots, who recently fell to Seattle in Super Bowl LX, will follow as the featured team for the 2027 season. This marks a historic first for both organizations, as neither the Seahawks nor the Patriots have ever appeared on the long-running NFL Films production.
The selection comes following the NFL's recent liberalization of the rules governing which teams can be compelled to participate in the show. Under the new guidelines, the league has more flexibility to feature high-profile teams, including defending champions like Mike Macdonald's Seahawks. Seattle currently features a roster led by quarterback Sam Darnold and a top-tier defense that is widely considered a favorite to repeat in Super Bowl LXI.
In addition to the "Hard Knocks" news, Rapoport reported during the NFL Annual Meeting in Phoenix that Season 3 of the Netflix documentary series "Quarterback" is officially set to return this July. While the featured signal-callers for the new season have not yet been confirmed, the series remains one of the most anticipated sports programs on the streaming platform.
