The Seattle Seahawks have signed former first-round cornerback Noah Igbinoghene, according to a report from Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Igbinoghene, 24, joins the Seahawks after a brief stint with the Washington Commanders, where he signed earlier this offseason. Before his time in Washington, the Auburn product spent the 2023 season with the Dallas Cowboys. He originally entered the NFL as the 30th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins, where he spent the first three years of his professional career.
Throughout 42 career games, Igbinoghene has recorded 40 total tackles, five passes defended, and one interception. He has also developed into a reliable special teams contributor, notably returning a blocked field goal for a touchdown during his tenure with the Cowboys. His addition provides the Seahawks with high-upside depth as they look to finalize their defensive rotation under new head coach Mike Macdonald.
In Seattle, Igbinoghene will join a secondary featuring young stars Devon Witherspoon and Riq Woolen. The move highlights the Seahawks' continued effort to bolster their cornerback room with veteran experience and former first-round pedigree. Igbinoghene is expected to compete for a depth role in the defensive backfield while providing immediate value to the team's coverage units on special teams.
