The Pittsburgh Steelers have officially agreed to terms on a one-year contract extension with veteran defensive tackle Cam Heyward, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.
The deal is worth a total value of $32.25 million and secures the long-time defensive anchor through the near future. Per Heyward's agent, Michael Perrett at Priority Sports, the new agreement includes $16.25 million in fully guaranteed money. This contract represents the fifth NFL deal for Heyward, who has been a mainstay on the Steelers roster for over a decade.
Since being drafted by Pittsburgh in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft out of Ohio State, Heyward has become one of the most decorated defensive players in franchise history.
