The Pittsburgh Steelers are expected to name C.J. Ah You as the team's new outside linebackers coach, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
Ah You joins head coach Mike Tomlin's staff to lead a high-profile position group headlined by perennial Pro Bowler T.J. Watt and Alex Highsmith. The move comes as the Steelers continue to solidify their defensive coaching staff for the upcoming season. The outside linebacker position is a cornerstone of the Steelers' 3-4 defensive scheme, requiring a coach capable of managing elite pass-rushing talent.
A former defensive end, Ah You played six seasons in the NFL with the St. Louis Rams from 2007 to 2012. Since retiring from the field, he has built an extensive coaching resume across both the collegiate and professional ranks. His previous experience includes a stint as a defensive line coach for the New York Jets, along with coaching roles at Oklahoma, Vanderbilt, and Texas A&M.
The Steelers have not yet officially announced the hire, but the expectation is that Ah You will step into the role immediately to begin offseason preparations and defensive installations.
