The Pittsburgh Steelers are expected to hire veteran coach Danny Crossman as the team's new special teams coordinator, according to a report from Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
Crossman, 59, arrives in Pittsburgh with more than 20 years of coaching experience at the NFL level. He most recently served as the special teams coordinator for the Miami Dolphins, a position he held from 2019 through the 2024 season. His hire marks a significant veteran addition to the coaching staff as the team prepares for the upcoming campaign.
Throughout his extensive career, Crossman has established himself as one of the most experienced special teams minds in the league. Before his five-year tenure in Miami, he spent six seasons as the special teams coordinator for the Buffalo Bills (2013–2018) and three seasons with the Detroit Lions (2010–2012). He first rose to the coordinator level with the Carolina Panthers, where he served from 2005 to 2009 after starting as an assistant in 2003.
