The Houston Texans are acquiring star running back Joe Mixon from the Cincinnati Bengals, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
The move provides the Texans with a proven veteran in the backfield to support second-year quarterback C.J. Stroud. Mixon has spent his entire seven-year career with the Bengals, where he established himself as one of the most productive ball carriers in the league.
During his tenure in Cincinnati, Mixon recorded four seasons with over 1,000 rushing yards and earned a Pro Bowl selection in 2021. He joins a Houston offense that is looking to build upon a surprise playoff run and AFC South division title last season.
The acquisition marks a significant shift for the Texans' rushing attack, which recently saw the departure of Devin Singletary in free agency.
