The Houston Texans are re-signing defensive tackle Naquan Jones to a one-year contract, per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

According to the report, the deal is worth $2 million in base compensation. The contract also includes performance-based incentives that could push the total maximum value of the deal to $2.5 million for the upcoming season.

Naquan Jones originally joined the Texans during the 2023 campaign after a stint with the Tennessee Titans. The former Michigan State standout has proven to be a reliable rotational piece on the interior of the defensive line. His return provides much-needed continuity for the defense under head coach DeMeco Ryans as the team looks to build upon last year's AFC South divisional title.

The move comes as Houston continues to solidify its roster depth during the offseason. Naquan Jones has appeared in 36 career NFL games, recording 3.5 sacks and 61 total tackles during his time with both Tennessee and Houston. His presence in the middle of the defensive front offers the Texans veteran experience and size against the run.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
