The Houston Texans have reached an agreement with veteran defensive back Myles Bryant on a one-year contract, per @RapSheet.
Myles Bryant, 26, joins the Texans after spending his first four professional seasons with the New England Patriots. Bryant has proven to be a highly versatile asset in the secondary, demonstrating the ability to play both as a slot cornerback and at the safety position. He originally entered the league as an undrafted free agent out of Washington in 2020.
During his time in New England, Bryant appeared in 59 games and made 33 starts. He is coming off a productive 2023 campaign where he recorded a career-high 77 total tackles, seven pass deflections, and one interception. His experience in complex defensive schemes makes him a natural fit for DeMeco Ryans' system in Houston.
The addition of Bryant further strengthens a revamped Texans secondary that has been a focal point of the team's offseason acquisitions. Bryant is expected to compete for a significant role in sub-packages while providing veteran leadership to a young defensive unit.
