Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold was arrested Wednesday night in Florida on multiple felony charges, including kidnapping and robbery, according to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport.
According to the Hillsborough County State Attorney’s Office, Arnold is facing eight felony counts that carry a potential sentence of up to life in prison. Investigators allege that the 23-year-old was the "primary conspirator" in a February incident where three victims were lured to an apartment, held at gunpoint, and battered. The motive for the alleged crime reportedly involved a dispute over property stolen from an Airbnb rented by Arnold earlier this year, per @RapSheet.
The Lions released a statement Wednesday evening confirming they are aware of the situation but will not comment further out of respect for the legal process. Arnold, a first-round selection in the 2024 NFL Draft, has denied all allegations through his representation and maintains his innocence.
