The Kansas City Chiefs and legendary tight end Travis Kelce have officially finalized a three-year contract extension, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
The deal is worth a total of $54.7 million, with a maximum value of $57.7 million including incentives. Per @RapSheet, the contract is effectively a one-year, $12 million fully guaranteed deal for the 2026 season. The agreement also includes a $40 million trigger for the 2027 season, a structure that allows the Chiefs to spread the salary cap hit while keeping their franchise icon on the roster for at least one more year.
Kelce, 36, had been the subject of retirement speculation following a 2025 campaign in which the Chiefs missed the postseason for the first time since 2014. The veteran tight end ultimately decided to return for his 14th NFL season, citing a desire to help Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs bounce back in 2026. Kelce remains a centerpiece of the Kansas City offense, coming off a season in which he recorded 76 receptions for 851 yards and five touchdowns, earning his 11th consecutive Pro Bowl selection.
The signing was officially confirmed on Monday as NFL owners gathered in Phoenix for the league's annual meetings. By locking in Kelce, the Chiefs' front office ensures their most reliable receiving threat remains in the fold as they look to return to championship contention.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
