The New York Jets have acquired the No. 30 overall pick in the NFL Draft via a trade with the San Francisco 49ers, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
In the exchange, the Jets are sending the No. 33 overall pick and the No. 179 overall pick to the 49ers. The deal allows New York to move up three spots into the end of the first round, while the 49ers move back to the start of the second round and add a late-round selection in the process.
The trade was confirmed as the first round of the draft progressed, marking a significant move for the New York Jets front office to secure a target at the end of the opening night. By moving into the 30th spot, the Jets will also gain the advantage of a fifth-year contract option for their selected player. Meanwhile, San Francisco adds draft capital to their current stockpile while remaining at the top of the board for the start of Day 2.
