The Baltimore Ravens have officially backed out of their blockbuster trade for Las Vegas Raiders star defensive end Maxx Crosby after the All-Pro failed his physical, according to a statement from the Raiders and reporting from Dianna Russini of The Athletic.
The deal, which was agreed upon earlier this week, would have sent Baltimore’s 2026 and 2027 first-round picks to Las Vegas in exchange for the five-time Pro Bowler. However, the Raiders confirmed Wednesday morning that the Ravens have withdrawn from the agreement. The failed physical is reportedly linked to Crosby's recovery from offseason knee surgery following a torn meniscus suffered late in the 2025 season.
The decision reinforces the Ravens' reputation for maintaining the NFL’s most stringent medical evaluations. The franchise has a long history of rescinding contracts due to physical concerns; in 1997, the team backed out of a deal with Dallas Cowboys safety Brock Marion just minutes before he was set to sign. Similarly, in 2018, the Ravens famously voided a $29 million agreement with wide receiver Ryan Grant due to an issue discovered during his team physical.
By voiding the trade, the Ravens retain their No. 14 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. Crosby remains under contract with the Raiders as the new league year begins.
