The Arizona Cardinals have officially hired Mike LaFleur as their new head coach, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. The move, which Rapoport noted has been in the works since last night, marks the final head coaching hire of the 2026 NFL cycle.
LaFleur, 38, joins the Cardinals after serving as the offensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Rams under Sean McVay for the past two seasons. He replaces Jonathan Gannon, who was dismissed by the franchise in early January. Per Adam Schefter of ESPN, LaFleur is expected to sign a five-year contract to lead the team.
The hiring of LaFleur concludes a lengthy search process for Arizona, which was the last of ten teams to fill its vacancy this offseason. LaFleur is the younger brother of Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur, making them the latest pair of brothers to hold head coaching positions simultaneously in the NFL. He becomes the seventh assistant from the McVay coaching tree to earn a head coaching role.
LaFleur will now be tasked with revitalizing an Arizona roster led by quarterback Kyler Murray. With this hire, all 32 NFL head coaching positions are now filled for the 2026 season.
