Former Cleveland Browns first-round pick Jedrick Wills Jr. has successfully passed his physical with the Chicago Bears, clearing the final hurdle to join the team for the 2026 season, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Wills, who signed a one-year contract with Chicago earlier this week, reportedly "worked out ok" during his evaluation today, per @AdamSchefter. The 26-year-old tackle is attempting a comeback after sitting out the entire 2025 campaign to focus on his recovery from a persistent knee injury. Wills was originally the No. 10 overall selection in the 2020 NFL Draft and spent five seasons in Cleveland before becoming a free agent.

The addition of Wills provides significant reinforcement for a Chicago Bears offensive line that has been under reconstruction. He is expected to compete for the starting left tackle position, a spot left vacant after 2025 second-round pick Ozzy Trapilo suffered a torn patellar tendon during the postseason. Protecting franchise quarterback Caleb Williams remains the top priority for General Manager Ryan Poles as the team looks to build on its recent NFC North success.

Wills has started 57 games in his career but has been limited to just 13 appearances over the last several years due to injury. His health and ability to return to his rookie-year form will be a major storyline as the Bears begin their offseason program.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
