The Colorado Avalanche have acquired forward Nazem Kadri and a 2027 fourth-round draft pick in a significant trade, according to Pierre LeBrun of TSN. The deal brings the veteran center back to the franchise where he played a pivotal role in capturing the 2022 Stanley Cup.
In exchange for Kadri, the Avalanche are sending a package consisting of a conditional first-round pick, a conditional second-round pick, forward Victor Olofsson, and Samuel Curran. Per LeBrun, the trade includes 20 percent salary retention on Kadri’s contract to facilitate the move.
Kadri has remained a consistent offensive threat since his previous stint in Denver, providing grit and scoring depth to the middle of the ice. Victor Olofsson, who joins the return package, is a veteran goal-scorer with significant NHL experience, while Samuel Curran represents a younger asset in the transaction.
