The Colorado Avalanche have traded forward Jack Drury, an undisclosed prospect, and a third-round draft pick to the Nashville Predators, per Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet (@FriedgeHNIC). The deal marks a significant swap of young talent between the two Western Conference franchises during the draft.
In return for Drury and the additional assets, Colorado acquires forwards Fedor Svechkov and Zachary L’Heureux from Nashville. Both Svechkov and L’Heureux were high-pedigree selections in the 2021 NHL Draft, with Svechkov previously selected 19th overall and L’Heureux taken 27th overall. Their arrival in Colorado adds substantial depth and former first-round talent to the Avalanche's system.
Drury has established himself as a reliable NHL contributor with a strong two-way game. By moving him along with a third-round pick and a prospect, the Predators are securing an established young player and additional draft capital. The specific identity of the prospect included in the package heading to Nashville has not yet been confirmed by the clubs.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
