The Vegas Golden Knights are expected to sign forward Victor Olofsson, according to Darren Dreger of TSN.
Olofsson, 28, joins the Golden Knights after spending his entire six-season NHL career with the Buffalo Sabres. Known primarily as a power-play specialist with a lethal one-timer, the Swedish winger recorded seven goals and 15 points in 51 games during the 2023-24 season. His most productive campaign came just a year prior in 2022-23, when he netted a career-high 28 goals for Buffalo.
The addition of Victor Olofsson provides Vegas with much-needed scoring depth on the wing following the departure of several key players in free agency. The move also reunites Olofsson with former Sabres captain Jack Eichel, which could offer the Golden Knights immediate chemistry within their top nine forward group. Throughout his career, Olofsson has proven to be a consistent threat from the circles, particularly on the man advantage.
Official terms regarding the length of the contract and the average annual value (AAV) have not yet been confirmed by the organization.
