Minnesota Vikings running back Aaron Jones has restructured his contract for the upcoming season, according to his agent Drew Rosenhaus per Adam Schefter of ESPN.
The revised agreement is worth $5.56 million and includes $5 million in guaranteed money. This move provides the Vikings with additional financial flexibility as they approach the 2024 campaign. Jones, 29, joined the Vikings earlier this offseason after spending the first seven years of his career with the Green Bay Packers.
During his tenure in the NFC North, Aaron Jones has established himself as one of the league's most efficient playmakers. He has surpassed 1,000 rushing yards in three different seasons and remains a significant threat in the passing game. The Vikings brought Jones in to lead a backfield that underwent changes this spring, and this restructuring ensures he remains a central figure in head coach Kevin O'Connell's offensive scheme.
The veteran back is coming off a 2023 season where he finished strong, recording five consecutive 100-yard rushing games to close out the year. His presence in Minnesota is expected to provide stability for a team currently navigating a transition at the quarterback position.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
