The Chicago Bears have officially signed running back Salvon Ahmed and defensive back Anthony Johnson Jr., per @AdamSchefter. In a corresponding roster move to make room for the new additions, the team has waived running back Deion Hankins.

Salvon Ahmed, 25, joins the Bears backfield after spending the previous four seasons with the Miami Dolphins. Ahmed has appeared in 38 career NFL games, recording 593 rushing yards and five touchdowns on the ground, along with 40 receptions for 274 yards and an additional score through the air. His experience provides veteran depth to a Chicago rushing attack led by D'Andre Swift and Khalil Herbert.

Anthony Johnson Jr. joins the Chicago secondary following a stint with the Green Bay Packers. A seventh-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, Johnson appeared in 12 games for Green Bay last season, tallying 24 tackles and one interception. His arrival signals a move to bolster the team's special teams units and defensive sub-packages as the preseason progresses.

The departure of Deion Hankins, an undrafted free agent out of UTEP, comes as the Bears continue to refine their 53-man roster. These moves are effective immediately as the team prepares for their upcoming preseason slate.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
