Tennessee Titans head coach Brian Daboll reportedly attempted to dissuade Titans General Manager Mike Borgonzi from selecting quarterback Cam Ward with the No. 1 overall pick in last year's NFL Draft, per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
At the time of the draft, Daboll was still serving as the head coach of the New York Giants. According to the report, Daboll reached out to Borgonzi to talk him out of the selection. Despite the advice, the Titans moved forward with Ward as the top pick.
