Smith most recently served as the assistant general manager for the Atlanta Falcons, a position he held since 2021. During his time in Atlanta, he was instrumental in the team's talent evaluation and roster construction processes. He is widely regarded across the NFL as a highly respected evaluator with a keen eye for talent.
Prior to his stint with the Falcons, Smith spent 11 seasons with the Washington Commanders organization. He began his career there as an intern and eventually worked his way up to the role of Vice President of Player Personnel. His track record of identifying contributors throughout the NFL Draft has made him a coveted executive in league circles.
This hire represents another major addition to the Dolphins staff as the franchise looks to strengthen its personnel department. Smith is expected to transition into his new role immediately to assist with Miami's front-office operations.
