The Philadelphia Eagles have acquired veteran quarterback Andy Dalton from the Carolina Panthers in exchange for a 2027 seventh-round draft pick, according to @AdamSchefter of ESPN.
The trade adds significant veteran experience to the Eagles' quarterback room as they look to solidify their depth chart. Andy Dalton, a three-time Pro Bowler, spent the 2023 season with the Panthers, where he served as a primary backup and mentor. Over his 13-year NFL career, the 36-year-old signal-caller has started 163 games, amassing over 38,000 passing yards and 250 touchdowns.
By sending a future late-round selection to Carolina, the Eagles secure a proven backup behind starter Jalen Hurts. Dalton has previously played for the Cincinnati Bengals, Dallas Cowboys, Chicago Bears, and New Orleans Saints. The Carolina Panthers receive a 2027 seventh-round pick in the deal, providing them with future draft capital as they continue to reshape their roster.
