The Philadelphia Eagles have agreed to terms on a one-year contract extension with offensive lineman Fred Johnson, according to a report from Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. The deal ensures the veteran tackle remains in Philadelphia as a vital depth piece for one of the league's most respected offensive line units.

Johnson, who originally joined the Eagles in 2022, has developed into a reliable backup for starters Jordan Mailata and Lane Johnson. During the 2024 NFL season, Johnson appeared in all 17 regular-season games, contributing primarily on special teams and as a rotational tackle. His presence provides the Eagles with veteran experience and continuity under offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland.

Before his tenure in Philadelphia, the 6-foot-7, 326-pound lineman spent time with the Cincinnati Bengals, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Since entering the league as an undrafted free agent out of Florida in 2019, Johnson has appeared in over 45 career games. The financial terms of the new one-year agreement have not yet been disclosed by the team.
