The Philadelphia Eagles have officially agreed to terms on a one-year contract with outside linebacker Joe Tryon-Shoyinka, according to a team announcement and a report per @AdamSchefter.

Tryon-Shoyinka joins the Eagles after spending the first four seasons of his career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. A former first-round selection out of the University of Washington, the pass rusher was the 32nd overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. He enters a Philadelphia defensive room that has seen significant turnover during the current offseason cycle.

During his tenure in Tampa Bay, Tryon-Shoyinka appeared in 51 regular-season games, tallying 114 tackles, 13 sacks, and one forced fumble. In the 2023 season, he recorded five sacks and 45 tackles while appearing in all 17 games for the Buccaneers. Despite his consistent availability, Tampa Bay opted to decline his fifth-year option last spring, allowing him to test the open market as a free agent.

The addition of Tryon-Shoyinka provides the Eagles with an experienced edge defender following the trade of Haason Reddick earlier this year. He is expected to compete for rotational snaps alongside Josh Sweat, Bryce Huff, and Nolan Smith as Philadelphia looks to bolster its pass-rushing depth for the upcoming season.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
