The Atlanta Falcons have officially signed former Las Vegas Raiders cornerback Darnay Holmes, per Adam Schefter of ESPN. The move adds veteran depth to the Falcons' secondary as the team continues to finalize its roster ahead of the upcoming campaign.
Darnay Holmes joins the Falcons after a brief stint with the Raiders. Prior to his time in Las Vegas, Holmes spent four seasons with the New York Giants, the team that originally selected him in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft out of UCLA. During his tenure in New York, Holmes appeared in 54 games, providing a consistent presence in the slot and on special teams.
Over his professional career, the 26-year-old defensive back has recorded 115 total tackles, four interceptions, and 18 passes defended. The addition of Holmes is expected to provide Atlanta with an experienced option in their defensive backfield rotation. Contract terms and the corresponding roster move have not yet been disclosed by the organization.
