Scott had recently been a candidate for several defensive coordinator vacancies across the league, including a reported interview for the opening with the Arizona Cardinals. Despite the interest from other franchises to lead their defenses, Scott has decided to stay in Seattle to work under the leadership of new head coach Mike Macdonald.
The decision to retain Scott provides key continuity for the Seahawks' defensive backfield as the team transitions to a new era. Scott originally joined the team in 2022 and has been instrumental in the development of Seattle's secondary. He now joins a defensive-minded staff led by Macdonald, who arrived in Seattle following a successful tenure as the defensive coordinator for the Baltimore Ravens.
