In a stunning turn of events on the first day of the new league year, the Baltimore Ravens have called off their blockbuster trade for Las Vegas Raiders star defensive end Maxx Crosby, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. The deal, which would have sent two first-round picks to Las Vegas, was voided after Crosby failed his team physical on Wednesday.
The trade was contingent on Crosby passing medical examinations, but concerns arose regarding his recovery from meniscus surgery. Crosby underwent the procedure earlier this offseason to repair an injury suffered during the 2025 campaign. Per Rapoport, while Crosby was reportedly progressing, the Ravens were ultimately not comfortable with the timeline for his return to full health given the significant draft capital involved in the trade.
The Ravens will now retain their 2026 and 2027 first-round picks, which were the centerpiece of what would have been a historic acquisition for the franchise. Crosby remains on the Raiders roster for the time being as the NFL free agency period officially begins. Las Vegas has not yet commented on whether they will seek another trade partner for the three-time Pro Bowler.
