Free agent running back Najee Harris visited the Seattle Seahawks on Wednesday and is slated to visit the Las Vegas Raiders next, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
The visit to Seattle was officially reported on the league personnel wire as Harris explores the open market for the first time in his career. Following his meeting with the Seahawks organization, the veteran ball-carrier is expected to travel to meet with the Raiders, per @RapSheet. These visits mark the first significant movement for the former first-round pick since becoming a free agent.
Harris has spent his entire professional career with the Pittsburgh Steelers, who selected him 24th overall in the 2021 NFL Draft. He has been remarkably consistent during his time in the league, recording over 1,000 rushing yards in each of his three professional seasons. In 2023, Harris accounted for 1,035 yards and eight touchdowns on 255 carries. Despite this production, the Steelers declined his fifth-year option earlier this offseason, leading to his current free-agent status.
Both the Seahawks and Raiders are currently evaluating their backfield depth. Seattle features a young duo in Kenneth Walker III and Zach Charbonnet, while Las Vegas is seeking to solidify its rushing attack after losing Josh Jacobs to the Green Bay Packers in free agency. Harris offers a durable, high-volume rushing option for teams looking to bolster their offensive identity. No official contract offers have been reported following the conclusion of the Seattle visit.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
