The New England Patriots have signed five players to the roster, per @AdamSchefter. The list of new additions features quarterback Behren Morton, running back Jam Miller, cornerback Karon Prunty, offensive tackle Dametrious Crownover, and linebacker Namdi Obiazor.
The signings address several different position groups as the Patriots look to build out their roster depth. Behren Morton is a quarterback prospect out of Texas Tech, while Jam Miller joins the team's backfield following his collegiate career at Alabama. On the offensive line, the team added Dametrious Crownover, a tackle who played his college football at Texas A&M.
On the defensive side of the ball, New England secured Karon Prunty to compete in the secondary. Prunty previously played for Kansas and North Carolina A&T. Additionally, the team signed linebacker Namdi Obiazor, a defender who most recently played for TCU.
These transactions represent the front office's ongoing efforts to evaluate available talent and maximize competition across the depth chart during this phase of the NFL calendar. The team has not yet announced any corresponding moves to accommodate these five new players on the roster.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
