The Baltimore Ravens have officially requested permission to interview Kansas City Chiefs defensive line coach Joe Cullen for their vacant defensive coordinator position, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Cullen is a well-known figure within the Ravens organization, having previously spent five seasons in Baltimore from 2016 to 2020. During that time, he served as the team's defensive line coach, helping develop one of the most consistent units in the NFL. His familiarity with the franchise's culture and defensive schemes makes him a logical candidate to succeed Mike Macdonald, who recently departed the team to accept the head coaching position with the Seattle Seahawks.
Since leaving Baltimore, Cullen served as the defensive coordinator for the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2021 before joining Andy Reid’s staff in Kansas City. With the Chiefs, he has been instrumental in the development of their front four, contributing to the team's recent postseason success. The Ravens are expected to move quickly in their search as they look to maintain their status as one of the league's premier defensive units under head coach John Harbaugh.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
