The Seattle Seahawks have officially elevated running backs Cam Akers and Velus Jones Jr. from the practice squad ahead of Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams, per @AdamSchefter.
The move provides the Seahawks with additional depth in the backfield for the divisional matchup. Cam Akers, a former member of the Rams, joins the active roster temporarily alongside Velus Jones Jr., who has recently transitioned into a more defined running back role. Both players were moved to the active roster on Saturday to ensure availability for the Week 9 contest.
Under NFL roster rules, both Akers and Jones Jr. will be eligible to suit up for the game before reverting to the practice squad on Monday. The Seahawks are looking to bolster their rushing attack and special teams units as they face a familiar NFC West opponent at home.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
