Former Indianapolis Colts star wide receiver T.Y. Hilton has officially announced his retirement from the NFL, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Hilton, 36, retires after a distinguished 11-season career, the majority of which was spent in Indianapolis. A four-time Pro Bowler (2014-2017), Hilton was a cornerstone of the Colts' offense throughout the 2010s. He led the NFL in receiving yards in 2016 with 1,448 yards and finishes his career with 631 receptions for 9,691 yards and 53 touchdowns. He currently ranks third in franchise history in both receptions and receiving yards, trailing only Hall of Famers Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne.
Selected in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft out of FIU, Hilton earned the nickname "The Ghost" for his ability to beat secondary coverage. Beyond his tenure with the Colts, Hilton also appeared in three games for the Dallas Cowboys during the 2022 season. His announcement follows other NFL retirements earlier today, including Boston Scott and Logan Wilson.
