Former NFL running back Chris Johnson, famously known as "CJ2K," has been diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), according to Tom Pelissero and a Monday morning interview on Good Morning America.
The three-time Pro Bowler and 2,000-yard rusher revealed that he first noticed weakness in his right hand in 2025, which eventually led to the diagnosis of sporadic ALS. Johnson, who turns 41 in September, stated during the interview that while the disease has changed his physical capabilities, he remains the same person and is working with medical professionals to slow the progression of the condition.
Johnson spent the majority of his career with the Tennessee Titans, where he became one of only nine players in NFL history to rush for over 2,000 yards in a single season. He also spent time with the New York Jets and Arizona Cardinals before retiring after the 2017 season.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
