The Seattle Seahawks have officially signed former Dallas Cowboys linebacker Dante Fowler Jr., per Adam Schefter of ESPN. The veteran pass rusher joins Seattle as the team continues to bolster its defensive unit under first-year head coach Mike Macdonald.
Fowler Jr. spent the previous two seasons in Dallas, where he played a significant role as a rotational edge rusher. During the 2023 season, he appeared in 17 games for the Cowboys, recording 4.0 sacks, five tackles for loss, and a forced fumble. His addition provides the Seahawks with a proven veteran presence on the edge alongside players like Uchenna Nwosu and Boye Mafe.
Originally selected as the No. 3 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars, Fowler Jr. has also spent time with the Los Angeles Rams and Atlanta Falcons. Over his career, he has accumulated 45.0 sacks and 10 forced fumbles, with his most productive season coming in 2019 when he recorded 11.5 sacks for the Rams.
The signing marks another move for a Seahawks defense that has seen significant changes this offseason. The team has focused on adding versatility and experience to their front seven as they transition to a new defensive system. Fowler Jr. is expected to compete for snaps in the outside linebacker rotation immediately.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
