The Los Angeles Chargers have officially signed veteran tight end David Njoku to a one-year deal, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. The contract is reportedly worth up to $8 million, marking a major addition to the Chargers' offense as they prepare for the 2026 season.

Njoku, 29, joins the Bolts after spending the first nine seasons of his career with the Cleveland Browns. A former first-round selection out of Miami, the athletic tight end has accumulated 4,062 receiving yards and 34 touchdowns throughout his career. His most productive season came in 2023, when he earned a Pro Bowl selection after hauling in 81 receptions for 882 yards.

The move provides star quarterback Justin Herbert with a proven veteran weapon in the passing game. According to Rapoport, the agreement was finalized by agent Malki Kawa of First Round Management. Njoku is expected to lead a tight end room that has seen significant turnover this offseason, joining a unit that includes Oronde Gadsden II and Charlie Kolar.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
