Brendan Sorsby is planning to enter the NFL’s supplemental draft, according to a report released on Tuesday. The decision provides NFL franchises with a rare opportunity to acquire a collegiate standout outside of the traditional draft cycle as they prepare for the 2026 season.
Sorsby most recently competed for the Cincinnati Bearcats, where he emerged as a primary leader for the offense. Before his tenure in Cincinnati, he was a member of the Indiana Hoosiers program. During his time with the Bearcats, Sorsby became known for his dual-threat capabilities, effectively balancing a strong passing attack with the athleticism to gain significant yardage on the ground against high-level conference opponents.
In the 2025 season, Sorsby demonstrated significant growth, posting career-high numbers in passing touchdowns and completion percentage. His physical tools, including a 6-foot-3 frame and poise under pressure, have made him a player of interest for professional scouts throughout his collegiate career. His entry into the supplemental draft allows teams to evaluate his tape and physical profile ahead of the upcoming training camp schedule.
The supplemental draft is a specialized process for players whose eligibility status has changed since the primary NFL Draft in April. Teams that choose to select Sorsby will forfeit a pick in the corresponding round of the 2027 NFL Draft. Front offices are expected to move quickly to finalize their evaluations of Sorsby before the bidding process begins later this summer.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
