Ivan Demidov has agreed to an eight-year contract extension worth a total of $73.2 million, according to a report from Pierre LeBrun. The massive deal is set to begin in the 2027-28 season and keeps the forward under contract through the 2034-35 NHL campaign.

The extension is heavily front-loaded with signing bonuses, totaling $57.6 million in bonuses alone. Per LeBrun, the annual breakdown begins with $11.5 million signing bonuses and $1 million base salaries in both 2027-28 and 2028-29. In 2029-30, Demidov will earn a $9.5 million bonus and $1 million salary, followed by a $6.7 million bonus and $1 million salary in 2030-31.

The structure continues in 2031-32 and 2032-33 with identical $6.3 million signing bonuses and $1.2 million base salaries. The final two years of the agreement include a $5.8 million bonus and $1.7 million salary in 2033-34, concluding with a flat $7.5 million salary in the 2034-35 season. The total value of the package represents a significant long-term commitment to the rising star.
