Ten-time Pro Bowl quarterback Russell Wilson is retiring from the NFL to join CBS Sports as an analyst, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Wilson, who spent the 2025 season with the New York Giants, had recently been linked to the New York Jets as a potential backup for Geno Smith. However, the veteran signal-caller has instead opted to transition to the broadcast booth, joining the roster of "The NFL Today" alongside James Brown, Nate Burleson, and Bill Cowher.
The move marks the end of a storied 14-season career for Wilson. After a decade in Seattle that included a Super Bowl XLVIII victory, Wilson spent two seasons with the Denver Broncos and one with the Pittsburgh Steelers before his final campaign in New York. He finishes his career with 46,966 passing yards and 353 touchdowns.
Wilson's decision to retire follows a week of speculation regarding his future in the league. Per reports, he had received interest from multiple teams but ultimately chose to accept a significant multi-year deal with CBS.
